Armor of God [week 5]

The Armor of God Bible Study
Week 5 Shield of Faith

There is nothing like the feeling of being hidden away and protected.  Especially when life seems really hard and you have no idea how or why the hard thing is happening or when it will end.

The Bible tells us in James 1:2 that we can consider it pure joy when we face trials of many kinds.

Let’s break it down…

Consider not only means "to think about", it also means to take leadership over, to go before and to have authority over.  WOW!! That is a new perspective.

Joy means to be glad.

Let’s stop to think…

We can have authority over and take the leadership in our gladness when we are facing a trial or test. (ouch! I have failed in this... have you? Good news, there is HOPE!)

Trials are meant to entice us to sin or to cause us to doubt our position and calling in Christ and to cause us to stumble in our integrity of faith in the One who saved us and is able to keep us for all of eternity.

Raising the  Shield of Faith is so important.

Hebrews 11 tells us all about what Faith looks like in the lives of ordinary people like us.  And tells us specifically that without Faith it is impossible to please God.  So what do we do? How do we please God with Faith?

Raise the Shield.  What does the shield look like? What is that all about?

In order to raise our shield we must know where our Faith is found, know what He has said, and be able to lift up His Word in order to defend, shield and protect our lives from the schemes of the Enemy.

Remember:
Read God's Word
Memorize God's Word
Do What it Says

Raise your shield and stand firm!
