When it comes to forgiveness, Psychology Today says that the nature of forgiveness is “Mustering up genuine compassion for those who have wronged us, instead of allowing anger toward them to eat away at us
When God
forgives us, it is more than “mustering up a genuine compassion” for us. He is known for His great compassion and
mercy and longs to show kindness toward us.
1 John 1:9 says that if we confess our sin, He is faithful and just to
forgive us our sins. Psalm 103:12 says that he removes our sin as far as the
east is from the west. Hebrews 8:11 says He remembers them no more. What a God!
Not only does
He forgive, but He does not hold a grudge or an offense toward us. He does not stay mad or keep us on the
hook.
RESPONSE: Are you thankful for the forgiveness that God offers you today? Is there anyone you need to forgive? Does anyone need your forgiveness? Prayerfully consider being the catalyst for God's forgiveness today.
